The Release And Deployment Plan must be executed as planned and agreed. The Deployment Team must execute the deployment
scripts to move the Release Package into production as per roles assigned to specific release activities (as mentioned
in the Deployment Schedule). The Release Manager supervises the overall deployment of the Release Package.
Before releasing the package into production, the Release Manager must ensure that the Release Note is updated with the
following details:
-
Content of the release
-
Impacted Configuration Items
-
Version of the release and release components
-
Any known errors or open defects with release components which will not be resolved prior to ‘go live’.
Any updates to the Installation Guides, User Manuals, and Deployment Training Material must also be completed before
executing the Deployment Scripts in production. Required documentation and Release Note must be communicated to all
relevant stakeholders.
If the release fails, then the back out procedures must be executed to ensure that the earlier version is re-installed,
and system operates as normal. In case of incorrect requirement, go back to the Change Management process.
The Release And Deployment Plan is executed as agreed. The Deployment Verification Report is reviewed and approved for
its completeness and correctness.
